The academic year starts on October 1 every year and ends in September of the following year. The academic year is divided into two semesters (winter and summer), each of which comprises 15 weeks of teaching and ca. 3 weeks of exams. Every semester has two exam periods: examination period and re-sit examination period.
The instructor conducting a lecture or class that is not completed with an examination shall give credits to students prior to the date the examination period starts. In justified circumstances, the student is eligible to apply for deadline to be extended. The application shall be submitted to the Vice-Dean for Teaching.
The number of examinations as outlined in the plan of studies shall not exceed 8 throughout the whole academic year and 5 in the examination session.
