The Year Tutor is responsible for providing general support and guidance for a group of students starting in their first year. The scope of services by a Year Tutor may include:
- support in Student Representative(s) election,
- support in arranging exams’ schedule,
- distributing news/information,
- collecting opinions from students,
- reporting students’ academic problems to the programme coordinator, Dean’s Representative for Teaching and/or vice-Dean for teaching.
- being the first point-of-contact in the event of academic problems.

The Year Representative represents all the students in a given year. The Year Representative is responsible for both in-person and e-mail contact with Year Tutor, teachers, and administrative staff. That is why Representatives should expect to be available by e-mail and to reply within a reasonable timeframe. The scope of responsibilities of a Year Representative may include:
- arranging exams’ schedule,
- distributing news/information,
- collecting opinions from students,
- reporting students’ academic problems to the Year Tutor and/or programme coordinator.
