“The role of cytosolic factors in posttranslational protein sorting”.
dr Łukasz Opaliński, Department of Protein Engineering.

The schematic representation of cellular protein sorting routes. Newly synthesized proteins can be co-translationally sorted into ER (and endomembrane system). Alternatively, proteins after complete synthesis on free cytosolic ribosomes can be sorted into the final subcellular location (post-translational transport routes). The main topic of the presentation will be an interplay between cytosolic factors and organelle-specific receptors in the delivery of proteins to mitochondria (A), peroxisomes (B) and in the internalization of extracellular proteins of therapeutic potential (C).
